Workers Rights Campaign Condemns Ogun State Ministry of Health’s Victimisation of Nurse Breeze Imrahn Nwagboso

201

The Workers Rights Campaign unequivocally condemns the arbitrary victimization of Nurse “Breeze” Imrahn Nwagboso who is currently facing disciplinary actions over discriminatory claims of “indecent dressing” and “unauthorised disclosure of information” by the College of Nursing Science, Ilaro, Ogun State and the Ogun State Ministry of Health.

The rights to freedom of thought, conscience and religion are enshrined in the Nigerian constitution especially Section 38, Chapter 4 of the CFRN 1999 as amended, any act to victimize and discipline a worker on this ground is a gross violation of the citizen’s fundamental human rights. The claim in a query dated 6 June 2025 where Nurse Breeze Nwagboso was alleged to be wearing earrings “stud” to class and video recording lectures is a total display of shallowness on the part of the school.

While the health concerns in the state continues to deteriorate with deficit in infrastructure, shortage of skilled personnel, rather than provide quality health care service to the citizens of the state, the Ogun State Ministry of Health is busying itself with witch hunting dissent voice in a bid to serve the interest of the state government and the ruling class that continues to unleash pain and agony on the citizenry and workers in the state.

The Workers’ Rights Campaign therefore calls on the school administration and the Ogun state government to immediately drop all the frivolous allegations against Nurse Breeze Nwagboso and concentrate on providing quality and free health care to the people of Ogun State.
