The Nigeria Union of Public Service Reportorial, Secretariat, Data Processors and Allied Workers (NUPSRAW) Federal Council held its delegates conference in Abuja at the end of August. This was the unions second quadrennial (four-yearly) conference. Comrades from all federal ministries and agencies attended the meeting.

Roselyn Uba-Anarah, the immediate past chair of the Federal Council, provided the welcome address. She said that the first quadrennial delegates conference brought to an end the intra-union crisis that had rocked the union for more than 13 years. So again this conference was to elect the union leadership for another four years.

The National President of the union Yahaya Yashi congratulated the Federal Council on their second quadrennial conference. Anthony Obineche gained the votes of 232 delegates and so defeated his rival Godwin Asionwu, who only won 86 votes. As a result, Anthony emerged as the chair of the Federal Council of the union.

In his acceptance speech, the chair-elect said that whatever the union achieved was through struggle. He commended the past executives for good performance and pledged that new executives would consolidate on their achievements.
